Kappi

A private chat app for a group of friends.

Messages are end-to-end encrypted: only you and the friend you write to can read them. Kappi’s server passes sealed envelopes along and deletes each one once it’s delivered.

What it does

One-to-one chats with reactions, food stickers, doodles and full-screen effects.
Games to play inside a chat, against friends or Kappi, the built-in bot.
Letters and postcards that take real time to arrive.
An optional encrypted backup of your chats to your own Google Drive, so they come back after a reinstall or on a new phone.

Signing in

You sign in with your Google account. There are no passwords and no phone numbers. Friends find each other by username.

Getting it

Kappi is a small hobby project shared as an Android app between friends. It isn’t on the Play Store.
